Denison Texas is truly hitting its stride, and the Music on Main concert series continues to impress with every passing season. Junior Brown may not be a Texas local, but the state has certainly embraced him as a favorite. It is always a pleasure to witness him perform on his signature "guitsteel" while delivering those rich, bass-filled vocals.
The evening began with a fantastic performance by Blair Kudelka. Despite being only eleven years old, she displays the poise of a veteran performer—a quality that clearly shone through during her recent success on the Netflix "Star Search" reboot. She is a rising talent with a bright future.
Junior and his wife, Tanya, have been making music together for thirty-nine years. Their path to success was far from smooth; during their early days in Nashville, they once had to sell jewelry to pay a phone bill. When Junior presented Tanya with the choice of paying the bill or fueling the car for a trip to Austin, she instantly responded, "I'll start packing!" That pivotal move paved the way for their career. The audience in Denison had a wonderful time, particularly during crowd favorites like "Highway Patrol" and the humorous "My Wife Thinks You're Dead."
