Rodeo Celina reached two major milestones this year by officially kicking off the North Texas rodeo season and debuting its impressive new venue at Myers Park in McKinney. After successfully hosting the previous two years at Southfork Ranch, the move to Myers Park signals an exciting new chapter for the event as organizers aim to expand the experience for all attendees.
Sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and supported by local partners, the three-day event held from May 29th to May 31st featured dedicated daily themes: Veterans Day, Cancer Awareness Day, and Family Day. The competition was action-packed, featuring Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. Beyond the main events, the Wranglers Drill Team delivered a technically impressive and visually stunning pre-rodeo performance, while the father-son duo "Clowning Around with Kyle Lamon" kept the crowd energized with hilarious banter and remarkable lasso skills.
