As the Hot Summer Nights Concert Series in Sherman, Texas, hits the halfway mark, we’ve enjoyed a diverse lineup ranging from rock to country, with temperatures climbing from the mid-70s to the low 90s. The crowds are growing, the energy is high, and the talent remains top-tier—and tonight was certainly no exception.

Roger Creager brought his signature beach-infused Texas country to the gazebo at Kidd-Key Park. He could easily be described as the Jimmy Buffett of Texas, Creager delivers a sound that perfectly captures the feeling of summer, blending Zydeco, Texas Swing, and a touch of Mariachi. Hailing from Corpus Christi and holding two Texas Entertainer of the Year titles, he truly knows how to transport an audience.

Between staples like his classic hit "Everclear" and a spirited, crowd-pleasing performance of "El Rancho Grande," Creager showcased incredible musical versatility. Feeding off the fantastic energy of the crowd, he brought the house down with a heartfelt rendition of the Bill Withers classic, "Lean On Me."

Of course, no review would be complete without highlighting the local talent who take on the challenge of opening these shows. A special thanks to local singer-songwriter Taylor Walker for sharing his music with us and for the great conversation before his set.
