My schedule finally aligned with Texoma FC! I’ve been trying to make it to a game all season, and while I waited until the final regular-season home game, I’m glad I made it out. Having only attended a handful of soccer matches in my life, my knowledge of the sport is limited, but I’ve found it remarkably similar to hockey—just played on a much larger field.
Upon entering Munson Stadium in Denison, Texas, I immediately noticed the club's commitment to their mission statement: "Family-Centric Culture." The atmosphere truly reflects the idea that family is the foundation of the club, creating an environment where players, staff, and fans feel connected and valued. Every detail, from the reasonably priced concessions to the players engaging with young fans, highlights their dedication to a family-oriented experience.
It was also Fan Appreciation Night, and the crowd was electric. After every goal, flags waved and the cheering intensified, fueled by a dedicated fan who kept the energy high with a set of drums. Following the club's thrilling 3-2 victory over the Denton Diablos, fans were invited onto the field to celebrate and interact with the players and coaches.
Since this match, the Texoma Football Club has clinched the USL2 Ranger Division title and is now preparing for the playoffs. Click the photo above to view the team's playoff schedule, and keep an eye out for more coverage from Red River Current Media as the team continues their postseason run!
