Texoma Roller Derby Aliens vs Cows Mashup

Over the past couple of years, I've discovered a lot of great things happening here in the Texoma area, but one of my favorite finds has to be Texoma Roller Derby! These ladies put their hearts, souls, and bodies into finding out just what they're capable of on roller skates!

But like most sporting events (yes, I said sporting events!), roller derby has a season, and unfortunately, all seasons must come to an end. Texoma Roller Derby wrapped up theirs in a big way with a season-ending open gender mashup!

A mashup starts with a theme, and this time around, it was Aliens vs. Cows! From there, it's an open invitation to skaters from near and far who want to lace up their skates and get in on the action. While the atmosphere may be a little more relaxed, make no mistake, these ladies still came to skate hard! And judging by the action on the track, there were more than a few scores to settle from past encounters!

Unfortunately for the Aliens, the Cows came loaded with some veteran players, and it showed on the scoreboard. When the dust (and maybe a little space debris) settled, the final score was Aliens 101, Cows 196!

I want to send out a big shout-out to everyone at Texoma Roller Derby for letting me be a part of their world over the past two seasons. It's been a blast getting to know these incredible athletes and capturing a little of what makes this sport so special.

I can't wait to see what's in store for 2027!
