For over fifty years the Bellamy Brothers have captivated audiences worldwide. With an undeniable legacy featuring 20 number-one singles, 25 top-10 hits, and over 50 tracks on the country charts, they remained a staple of radio throughout the seventies and eighties. Van Alstyne was electric as the crowd gathered to hear iconic anthems like "Redneck Girl," "I'd Lie to You for Your Love," and the legendary "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me."

David and Howard Bellamy began performing together in 1968, but it was their breakthrough hit, "Let Your Love Flow," that catapulted them to fame in 1976. Blending their signature Florida roots with a smooth country sound long before the tropical rock genre became a household name, the duo went on to amass a string of fifteen more major hits in the United States.

The concert also provided a perfect stage for the city of Van Alstyne to showcase the rebranding of their downtown plaza. A banner proudly displaying the new "Central Social District" name served as a backdrop for the band, highlighting the city’s impressive infrastructure improvements and preparation for future growth. Next up in the Sounds of Summer Free Concert Series, catch singer-songwriter Jack Ingram on September 12th. See you all there!
