While Red River Current Media typically stays close to the Red River, this assignment brought me to The Rustic in Dallas, Texas, for a two-fold mission: finally visiting the acclaimed venue owned by Kyle Noonan and catching one of my favorite bands in a new setting. To top it off, the night featured Trippp, one of my top musical discoveries of 2026.

Upon arriving at The Rustic, I was immediately struck by the venue's perfectly curated casual, cozy atmosphere. The menu offered unique highlights, including cactus fries—which, despite mixed reviews from my group, were elevated by an incredible jalapeño ranch. The concert space itself felt intimate, resembling a comfortable backyard setup with accessible bars and attentive table service.

The music kicked off with Texas singer-songwriter Logan Samford, whose solo acoustic set brought the spirit of the Great Plains of Texas to life. He paved the way for Trippp, a trio of brothers from Arkansas whose renewed passion for music was on full display. Seeing them perform an acoustic set was a unique treat that allowed their songwriting and vocal harmonies to truly resonate.

Headliners Them Dirty Roses, proved once again that they are unfazed by the Texas heat. Despite technical difficulties and temperatures soaring to near 100 degrees, the Gadsden, Alabama natives delivered a high-energy, classic rock performance that left the entire crowd—even those previously unfamiliar with the band—thoroughly impressed by their raw talent and resilience.
